  • USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 Question Bank Apps Now Available on App Store

    10/15/2009 by Press Room, Modality

More than a dozen apps from Modality and McGraw-Hill Professional deliver personalized medical board prep to iPhone and iPod touch

Durham, NC -- October 15, 2009 -- Modality, Inc. and McGraw-Hill Professional today announced that Lange Q&A USMLE Step 1 is now available on the App Store. This app brings the total number of United States Medical Licensing Examination question bank apps created by Modality in partnership with McGraw-Hill to twelve, spanning the publisher’s bestselling First Aid, Lange and PreTest series.

“Board review is incredibly taxing for both medical students and their instructors,” said Scott Grillo, vice president and medical publisher of McGraw-Hill Professional. “The volume of material to master is daunting, and providing students with rapid access via iPhone and iPod touch to the thorough, vetted content in our books will no doubt facilitate their success on the exams.”

  • App Review: Recently Released USMLE Question Bank: Lange's Q&A USMLE Step 2 CK

    11/3/2009 by Iltifat Husain,

If you type "USMLE Step 2" into the App Store, you don't get many results. One of the applications that shows up is the recently released Lange Q&A: USMLE Step 2 CK app, produced by Modality, and costing $33.99. We've reviewed other USMLE study apps for the iPhone in the past, such as the USMLE disease deck, and not been huge fans.

This time I was hoping for better results. I'm just a few weeks removed from taking step 2 CK (hooray!), and figured it would be the perfect time to review this app. I'll admit, I've been a fan of Lange products since using their Pharmacology flashcards for Step 1 studying. I found the flashcards to be well written, concise, and high yield. I was hoping this question bank on the iPhone would give me similar results.
