Lange Pathology Flash Cards provide a concise, portable, and comprehensive survey of high-yield pathology content for course and USMLE Step 1 review. This application offers two modes: disease index mode for quick review of pertinent information, and flash card mode for customizable study of details about each disease.

In the disease index mode, introductory cards for each system describe the basic physiologic and/or pathophysiologic principles of the relevant structures and organs. Each disease-specific card provides a structured presentation of a disease and allows students to compare and contrast diseases. Each card contains a clinical vignette and characteristics of the disorder. The vignette frames pertinent information in the context of a clinical application and includes information on the etiology and epidemiology of the disease; classical or defining pathologic, pathophysiologic, or histologic findings; clinical manifestations, classical presentations, and current medical treatments; and pearls. The most salient features of each disease are highlighted in bold for rapid review.

In the customizable flash card mode, users can study all aspects of each disease or choose which specific aspects they’d like to study: vignette; etiology and epidemiology; pathology and pathophysiology; clinical manifestations; treatment; and notes. The flash card mode also features a shuffle mode for quick review. With the ability to bookmark cards, add notes, and shuffle cards, Lange Pathology Flash Cards offer multiple ways to learn pathology.

  • “A Purchase that I Enjoy More Than ‘The Dark Knight’". I have purchased the following apps: Lange Pathology, Lange Pharmacology, Lange Microbiology. I’ve used each of them daily, with the Lange Pharmacology getting an extensive workout. I should start by saying, I’m not sure exactly how I feel about these apps. On one hand, they are amazing and have made reviewing the three courses I purchased apps for, a breeze. I no longer have to lug around thousands of paper cards that ultimately get damaged or lost. That said, I’m a little upset that with all this free space in my backpack, I can no longer come up with an excuse for my Path professor for why I’m not carrying around Robbins. That makes me sad. I would love to have the ability to add notes to each card, via the desktop. Nothing would honestly make my life easier, if I could annotate the Lange cards on my desktop computer, sync my notes and have them show up on my iPhone. That said, the fact that I can add my own notes to the Lange cards via the iPhone keyboard shows me that you guys have some understanding of the hell medical students go through in search of quality educational software.
